Saturday and Sunday hours: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Weekend hours are the same both days. Doors open at 8:00 AM, the last patients are seen before 2:00 PM, and then the office closes for the day. If you wake up Saturday with a throbbing molar, call when you wake up. The earlier in the morning you call, the more of that six-hour window is open to you.

Two o'clock is a real cutoff. We don't see patients on a weekend afternoon or evening, so please don't plan around a 4:00 PM Sunday visit that doesn't exist. Call after 2:00 PM and a person still picks up, then holds the next opening for you: Sunday at 8:00 AM if it's Saturday, Monday at 7:00 AM if it's Sunday.

Dentist open early and late on weekdays

Weekday hours run from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday. That covers the two times a toothache usually gets unbearable: the middle of the night, when a 7:00 AM opening is the next thing on the calendar, and the end of the workday, when you've finally got time to deal with it.

A 7:00 AM visit means you can be seen, treated and on your way before a normal shift starts. A 6:00 PM call on a Thursday can still get you in before the 7:00 PM close. Between those hours the front desk answers the phone directly and books you for the same day.

After hours: what happens when you call at night

The office is closed overnight, but the phone never is. A live answering service picks up every call outside office hours, every day of the year. Whoever answers jots down your name, the number to ring back and which tooth is acting up, and books you into the first opening: 7:00 AM on a weekday, 8:00 AM on a Saturday or Sunday.

The answering service does not give medical advice and doesn't decide how urgent your case is. Its job is to make sure you're on the schedule when the doors open. If the problem feels bigger than a tooth, the next section covers when to go to a hospital instead.

When a weekend tooth problem belongs in the ER

Go to a hospital emergency room first, on any day, if your face or neck is swelling quickly, you're having trouble swallowing or breathing, you can't open your mouth, you have a high fever with the toothache, or the injury involved a blow to the head. Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center on Burns Rd is about 3 miles from our office, and St. Mary's Medical Center on 45th St is about 5 miles south, toward Riviera Beach. For Jupiter and Juno Beach patients, Jupiter Medical Center on Old Dixie Hwy is closer.

Hospitals treat spreading infection and injuries; they generally don't treat the tooth itself. Once you've been seen and you're stable, call our office: the tooth still needs a dentist, and we're open the next morning at the latest.

Which emergencies we see on weekend mornings

Everything we treat on a Tuesday. Our own dentists handle severe toothaches, abscesses, extractions, emergency root canals, broken teeth, lost fillings and crowns, wisdom tooth pain and knocked-out teeth in our own office, with the X-ray taken on site. Nothing is sent somewhere else.

A South Florida weekend has plenty of ways to hurt a tooth: a boat day, a pickup game, a bite into something hard at a cookout. If a tooth comes all the way out, keep it from drying out (a cup of milk works, or tuck it in your cheek) and call on the way; a tooth left to dry out in a hot car for an hour is much harder to save.

Managing the pain until your time

A few things help while you wait for an 8:00 AM Saturday opening. A warm salt-water rinse helps. So does a cold pack held to the cheek in twenty-minute stretches with twenty off, if there's swelling. An over-the-counter pain reliever, taken the way the label says, is fine unless your doctor has told you to avoid it. Never park an aspirin on the gum; the tissue burns. Stay away from anything very hot, very cold or very sweet, and keep the chewing on the other side.

None of that treats the cause. It buys a few hours. If the pain breaks through all of it, call again, and tell the person who answers that it's getting worse.

Cost of a weekend emergency visit

Weekend visits are priced the same as weekday visits. Patients paying without insurance start at $99 for the limited exam and the X-ray, with any treatment quoted on paper before it begins. With a PPO, HMO or Medicare Advantage dental plan, the exam and X-ray bill goes to the plan. Cash and cards are accepted, along with in-house payment plans, plus Sunbit, Cherry and CareCredit financing. The cost and insurance page explains the whole process.

Weekend emergency dentist near you in north county

The office is on the Northlake corridor, just west of the Northlake Blvd exit off 95, which makes a weekend drive short from most of northern Palm Beach County. Lake Park is about 6 to 10 minutes away, North Palm Beach about 9 to 13, and Juno Beach about 13 to 18. Weekend traffic on Northlake near the Publix plaza can add a few minutes, so leave a little early. The service area page lists every area and route.

Frequently asked questions

Is a dentist open on Sunday near me?

Yes. Sunday hours in Palm Beach Gardens are 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and Saturday runs the same hours. Call (561) 867-8401 before you come so the time is held. After 2:00 PM on Sunday the phone is still answered, and Monday's 7:00 AM opening is held for you.

Do I need an appointment on a weekend?

Yes. Call first, the same as on a weekday. Walk-ins aren't accepted, because the weekend schedule is short and every room is planned around the calls that come in that morning. The call takes a minute or two and gets a room and a dentist ready for you.

Is there a dentist open early in the morning?

Yes. Weekdays, Monday through Friday, start at 7:00 AM, and weekend mornings start at 8:00 AM. If you call at 4:00 AM, the answering service holds that first opening for you, so a sleepless night ends with a dentist a few hours later.

Are you an after-hours dentist?

Weekdays we're open 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, weekends 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, which covers early mornings and weeknight evenings. Outside those windows the office is dark, and a live answering service covers the phone 24/7 and holds the first opening for you. We don't see patients overnight.
