How far is our office from BallenIsles?

About three miles. Our address is 4595 Northlake Blvd Ste 112, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33418, on the north side of Northlake Blvd between Military Trail and I-95. From the BallenIsles Dr gate you turn onto Northlake Blvd and head east. You'll pass Palm Beach Gardens High School on the way, cross Military Trail, and we're a half mile farther on your left.

School pickup traffic near the high school pushes you toward twelve minutes on weekday afternoons. Anyone north of the community near Old Palm Golf Club uses the same road.

Same-day emergency dental care for BallenIsles patients

The call is the first step, every time. We don't take walk-ins: when you phone ahead, the front desk sets aside a chair and a dentist for you, which means no waiting-room stretch with a throbbing tooth. Tell us what happened and roughly when you can be here.

During office hours the front desk answers. Outside them, your call goes to a live answering service, which notes your name and number and reserves the first opening for you: 7:00 AM on a weekday, 8:00 AM on Saturday or Sunday. The phone is picked up at any hour. The office is open the hours above.

Exam, X-ray and, where the findings allow it, treatment all happen at one visit with our dentists. Emergency extractions, emergency root canals and abscess treatment are all done here in the office. Nothing gets sent elsewhere. Bring your medication list and any dental insurance card, even if you're only here for the season.

Open weekends and early mornings for BallenIsles

On Saturday and Sunday we're here from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with chairs reserved for emergencies. A tooth that cracks on the course Saturday morning doesn't have to wait until Monday.

Weekday mornings we open at 7:00 AM and stay until 7:00 PM, so you can be seen before work or after it. Between 2:00 PM Sunday and 7:00 AM Monday, or any weeknight after seven, the answering service takes your call and reserves the next opening. The weekend and after-hours page goes into more detail on how that works.

What an emergency dental visit costs for BallenIsles patients

Patients without dental insurance pay $99, covering the emergency exam and the diagnostic X-ray. Treatment is charged separately, and the price is written down and handed to you before our dentists pick up an instrument.

Most PPO and HMO dental plans are accepted here, along with Medicare Advantage dental plans. With one of those plans, the exam and X-ray get billed through it. For treatment, we take cash and cards and offer in-house payment plans, plus Sunbit, Cherry and CareCredit financing. The cost and insurance page covers all of it in more detail.

Getting here from BallenIsles

  • From any BallenIsles gate: take BallenIsles Dr out to Northlake Blvd and turn east. Stay on Northlake past Palm Beach Gardens High School and across Military Trail. We're on the road's north side, about a half mile past Military Trail and before the I-95 overpass. Parking on site.
  • From the Cathedral of Saint Ignatius Loyola area: you're already on the Northlake corridor, so it's a short run east on Northlake Blvd.
  • From Old Palm or the Turnpike side: come south to Northlake Blvd, then east. Fire Rescue Station 63 sits in the same stretch of the corridor, so you're close.

When the emergency room comes first

Swelling that spreads toward your eye or down your neck, a fever with facial swelling, trouble opening your mouth or swallowing, or a jaw you suspect is broken after a fall or a crash: those go to a hospital before they come to us. The closest emergency room to BallenIsles and to our office is Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, about three miles away on Burns Rd. Hospitals treat spreading infection and injuries; they generally don't treat the tooth itself. Our part begins once you're stable.

Emergency dental services for BallenIsles families

Wake up at 3 AM with a toothache and it's usually diagnosed and treated at one appointment. A tooth chipped or broken on a golf ball or a fork gets smoothed, rebuilt or fitted for a crown depending on how deep the break goes. If a tooth is knocked out, pick it up by the crown, set it in milk (a cheek pouch works too), and get it to us within the hour; in a hot car on Northlake it dries out fast, so don't wrap it in a napkin. Wisdom tooth pain gets an X-ray and a plan the same day, and if it has to come out, wisdom tooth extraction, whether simple or surgical, happens right here. A lost filling or crown goes back on, or gets replaced, once our dentists confirm the tooth under it is solid.

BallenIsles is one of eight areas on our service area page, along with PGA National and Lake Park.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can a BallenIsles patient be seen?

The same day you call, during office hours: weekdays 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, weekends 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Before you leave BallenIsles, phone (561) 867-8401, tell the front desk where you're coming from, and we'll give you a time. Walk-ins aren't accepted, so don't make the drive without phoning.

Is the office open on Sunday for BallenIsles residents?

Yes, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with the same emergency services as a weekday. Call before you come. If your tooth breaks Sunday evening after we close, the answering service picks up and holds you Monday's 7:00 AM opening.

Do you take out-of-state PPO plans for seasonal residents?

Most PPO and HMO dental plans and Medicare Advantage dental plans are accepted no matter which state issued them. Bring the card. If the plan doesn't apply, the $99 exam and X-ray fee applies, and the treatment price is put in writing before our dentists begin.
