Lost Filling or Crown? Same-Day Repair in Palm Beach Gardens

When a filling drops out or a crown pops off, we fix it the same day at our Palm Beach Gardens office on Northlake Blvd: fillings are replaced, and crowns are re-cemented when they still fit or remade when they don't. Keep the crown and call (561) 867-8401; a time gets held for you. Call first, because walk-in visits aren't scheduled.

The $99 is a minimum fee for patients paying without insurance. It covers a limited, problem-focused emergency exam (ADA code D0140) and the X-ray needed to diagnose the tooth. Treatment is priced separately and quoted to you in writing before any work starts.

Signs you need a lost filling or crown repaired today

Most people know the moment it happens. Something hard in a mouthful of food that turns out to be the filling. A crown that lifts off with a piece of caramel. A sudden hole the tongue can't leave alone. Sometimes it's quieter: a filling rocking in place, or a crown loose under a fingertip.

The tooth underneath is the concern, not the gap. A filling or crown was there because that tooth had already lost structure, and what's left is thinner than a whole tooth. Open to the mouth, it picks up bacteria, reacts to cold and sweet, and can crack under one hard bite. A tooth that was root canaled before the crown has no nerve to warn you, which makes a quick fix more important, not less.

Sharp pain when air hits the spot, a tooth that has split after the filling came out, or swelling in the gum means the nerve is involved and the visit should be today rather than this week.

What happens at your same-day visit

The tooth gets a close look and an X-ray, checking for decay underneath and cracks into the root. A written price for the repair comes next, and you decide before we start.

A lost filling is replaced. The cavity is cleared of any decay that formed while it was open, and a new filling is placed and shaped to your bite. A crown that came off clean, with the tooth under it still sound, is tried back on, checked on the X-ray, and re-cemented. A crown that no longer fits, because the tooth broke or decayed under it, is remade, with a temporary crown protecting the tooth in the meantime.

If the X-ray shows the decay went all the way to the nerve, an emergency root canal happens first and the filling or crown goes on after. All of this is emergency repair, done here.

Cost of lost filling or crown repair in Palm Beach Gardens

Patients who pay without insurance owe $99 for the exam and X-ray. Replacing the filling, re-cementing the crown, or making a new one is quoted separately, in writing, before the work begins. The quote tells you which applies.

The exam and X-ray are charged to your PPO, HMO or Medicare Advantage dental plan when you have one. What's left can go on in-house payment plans, plus Sunbit, Cherry and CareCredit financing. Each of those options is described on the cost and insurance page.

Why patients choose our Northlake Blvd office

Fillings and crowns come loose at dinner. We're open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, so a crown that pops off on a Friday night can be back on Saturday morning. Someone real picks up the phone 24/7, and after hours the service sets aside the first opening for you, 7:00 AM weekdays or 8:00 AM weekends.

We accept most PPO and HMO dental plans and Medicare Advantage dental plans. Our team speaks Spanish whenever the office is open. Parking is on site. We opened in 2025.

Frequently asked questions

Should I try to reattach the crown myself?

Skip the household glue; it harms the tooth and the crown and traps bacteria. If the crown is whole and you can see how it sits, a dab of denture adhesive or toothpaste inside it will hold it for a few hours while you call (561) 867-8401. Bring it with you and we'll cement it properly.

Is it okay to leave a lost filling for a few days?

A day or two is usually safe if the tooth doesn't hurt, as long as you chew on the other side and brush the area gently. Longer than that and the exposed tooth starts to soften and chip. Pain, sensitivity to cold, or a sharp edge cutting your tongue moves it to today.

Will my old crown fit again?

Often, yes, if it came off in one piece and the tooth under it is intact. Our dentist checks the fit on the X-ray before cementing. When the tooth broke or decayed under the crown, the old one won't seat and a new crown is made. If part of the tooth came away with it, see our broken tooth repair page.

Why does the tooth hurt now that the filling is gone?

The filling was insulating the inner tooth from air, cold and sugar. With it gone, those reach the nerve directly. Mild sensitivity settles once the tooth is refilled. Pain that throbs on its own suggests the nerve is inflamed; our toothache relief page explains the difference.
